Hello.
This is going to be my NaNoWriMo journal for 2004.
I attempted NaNo in 2003, over at
nano_jess_y0, but my PC died nine days into it, and I only got it back on the 28th. I still got 33,000 words done, and am hopeful that without computer screwups this year, I'll actually finish.

Java is a sort-of trendy little internet cafe amongst the hustle and bustle of inner-city life. People come for the coffee and stay for the company. There's Rod, divorced father of two and insomniac night watchman; Kim, real-estate agent who's sick of being pigeonholed; Martin, the gay architect who wishes he didn't live with his parents; Crystal, in year eleven at a prestigious private school... and fearing she's fallen pregnant; The Silent Businessman who never talks but who always orders a long black and a cappuccino as he reads the finance pages; and Steffi, who dropped out of school and who mightn't know much but can brew a killer cup of coffee.
And this is their story.
Please Note:
Actual chapters will be Flocked as they were in last year's NaNo journal, but the rest will be out there- I write about the process, and any ideas, as much as I do the novel-writing, too.
Please Also Note:
Java may contain adult themes and subject matter which some may find offensive. There may be politics, violence and discussion of potentially offensive topics such as sex, religion and issues-of-the-day which tend to get people's shackles up. Generally warnings will be included in cut tags about potential nasties, but I just thought I'd mention it here. That said, it's a lot softer than The Way Things Are was.
Good luck, fellow NaNos!
